Course Overview 

 

The event will run in GPC's beautiful parklands, highlighting all three areas - East Shores, The Gladstone Marina and Spinnaker Park. 

​

There will be two race events for participants to choose from including the 9-kilometre Koongo Dash and the 3-kilometre Yallarm Family Run.

​

Both race names recognise the language of the Traditional Owners of the land - the Bailai and Gooreng Gooreng nations, with Koongo 

meaning place of water and meaning place of shells.

Race bibs and complimentary race shirts cannot be collected prior to these dates. If race bibs are not collected prior to the event, they will be available for collection at the starting line (either the 9km or 3km) from the Race Bib Collection Tent. Entrants must bring their e-ticket and valid identification. Race bibs can be collected on behalf of an entrant, provided the person collecting has all e-tickets.

Road Closures

The following roads will be closed for approximately five hours on Sunday, 21 August 2022 from 5.30am to 10.30am.  In addition, access to Matthew Flinders (Gladstone Marina) Bridge will remain closed to all vehicular traffic. Pedestrian traffic will be permitted for the duration of the Port to Park event only.

Parking and Free Shuttle Bus

Please plan your trip and give ample time to get to East Shores before your event starts.

Free shuttle buses will run from three pick up/drop off points to Flinders Parade beginning at 5.30am:
• Gladstone PCYC - free parking on Side street
• Gladstone Showgrounds - free parking via Tank Street
• William Street Gem Shack - city centre street parking
The final 3km pre-race pick up time will be 8.00am from each stop. Buses will drop participants back until 11am.

For those with prams and strollers, please park at the Showgrounds for underbus storage facilities.
