Environmental Management
We continually seek to improve our environmental and sustainability performance and are committed to maintaining the balance between our operations and the surrounding environments.
We continually seek to improve our environmental and sustainability performance and are committed to maintaining the balance between our operations and the surrounding environments.
We recognise that our port facilities and services are located in estuarine environments of high conservation value.
We have developed and actively perform our work under an Environmental Management System (EMS) certified to AS/NZS ISO 14001:2015.
The scope of our EMS has been defined as the development, operation and maintenance of the ports, port lands and associated infrastructure controlled by Gladstone Ports Corporation Limited. Maintaining this certification and demonstrating continual improvement into the future is a challenge that we are committed to meeting.
Gladstone Ports Corporation (GPC) has an environmental commitment to operating in a manner that allows for sustainable development and minimises environmental harm to the port and surrounding areas.
To achieve this, we are committed to:
-
ongoing improvements in our operations to minimise environmental impacts
-
improving the level of awareness and understanding of our employees and the wider community
-
establishing environmental strategies in association with external stakeholders.
