Cruise Ships
Gladstone Ports Corporation (GPC), Gladstone Area Promotion & Development Limited, Gladstone Regional Council and relevant government departments, have been working collaboratively with cruise liners to establish the Port of Gladstone as a cruising destination.
Gladstone’s exciting cruise industry commenced with the safe arrival of the P&O Cruises Pacific Dawn on 10 March 2016. The cruise ships berth at our Auckland Point Terminal facility at Auckland Inlet.
Our East Shores Precinct hosts the Feast on East Markets in conjunction with the cruise ships docking in Gladstone. These modern markets showcase local art, handicrafts, retail and food and coffee stalls. Cruise passengers and locals can wander through the market area or relax and enjoy local entertainment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where are the best locations to view the cruise ship?
Our parklands provide the best views on the day, at either Spinnaker Park, Gladstone Marina Parklands or the East Shores Precinct. Gladstone Regional Council’s Auckland Hill Lookout is another great vantage point.
Where do I park for the Feast on East Markets?
Public parking is available at the Yacht Club end of the East Shores Precinct and visitors are kindly asked to not park in the dedicated boat trailer parking spaces to ensure sufficient parking remains available for trailers.
On weekend market days, visitors to the Feast on East Markets can park at the Visitor Information Centre on Bryan Jordan Drive and enjoy a ferry ride from the wharf to the East Shores Precinct.
Please note, the ferry service will not operate on all market days. The ferry service will be advertised prior to the dates on which it will be operational, please be sure to check specific dates.
What are the restricted areas?
Flinders Parade is closed to the public from the point depicted in the map below to the East Shores car park at the Auckland Point Terminal end of the precinct. Members of the community are not authorised to enter the Auckland Point Terminal at any time.
