GPC recognises the importance of their habitats for the reproduction and survival of many indigenous, commercial and recreationally targeted fish species, and has committed to investigating fish habitat areas (FHA) in the Central Queensland region under our Biodiversity Offset Strategy. The FHA network encourages boating and fishing, but limits development activities that can cause physical disturbance to fish habitats. For more information on declared FHA investigation programs visit the Queensland Government’s Department of National Parks, Sport and Racing.
